Camp Ramah in the Poconos is seeking an experienced, detail-oriented, and strategic Director of Finance to join their team in their Bala Cynwyd office. Reporting to the Executive Director, the Director of Finance will be responsible for the effective stewardship of the organization’s financial operations, strategic plan implementation, financial planning and compliance, safeguarding of assets, and supporting the mission of enriching Jewish life.
A successful candidate will have solid experience working in a non-profit organization, and deep knowledge of fund accounting and related compliance requirements. The Director of Finance will bring strong communication and relationship development skills for this change agent role. Experience in Jewish camp and/or Jewish education experience is a plus. This is a hybrid role, with 4 days/week in the office.

Compensation Range
$140,000 - $165,000

Key Responsibilities
Direct all financial operations, ensuring compliance with GAAP and maintain the integrity of financial records
Lead the development, implementation, and management of the annual operating and capital budget in collaboration with leadership and department heads
Provide regular, comprehensive financial reports, dashboards, and updates to the Executive Director, Finance Committee, and Board of Directors, including investment performance
Oversee GL management, payroll processing, and A/R & A/P, ensuring accurate and timely record-keeping
Ensure compliance with all relevant certifications, including maintaining 501(c)(3) status
Oversee summer-specific financial operations, including A/R and A/P, working closely with program leadership and the bookkeeper
Support summer payroll processing and provide financial leadership onsite at both the Overnight and Day Camps as needed
Supervise and provide strategic oversight to the Bookkeeper, ensuring efficient day-to-day financial operations and reporting
Qualifications & Skills
7+ years of experience in financial management, with a strong preference for experience in a non-profit organization
Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or a related field required; CPA or advanced degree preferred
Exceptional organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail
Highly skilled in budget development, projections and management
Advanced proficiency in financial software (QuickBooks Online), Microsoft Excel, and the ability to create financial dashboards and month-end reports
Thorough understanding of non-profit accounting principles and practices
Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with staff, Board members, and external stakeholders
