National Ramah Receives New Grants for Leadership Development

November 2017 | Cheshvan 5778

The National Ramah Commission is pleased to announce that we have received substantial new funding in furtherance of our mission to advance staff training for our camps and young adult leadership development for our summer staff members and year-round professionals.

These new grants will support:

  • Growth and expansion of the Ramah Service Corps Fellowship, encouraging Fellows to pursue careers in the Jewish community

  • Development of a teen version of the Ramah Service Corps to further support our schools and synagogues and train Ramah graduates prior to their summer as counselors at camp

  • Placement of Ramah College Network Fellows on up to 15 university campuses

  • Creation of a new staff training track for college sophomores at our Bert B. Weinstein Institute for Counselor Training, which takes place annually as part of the National Ramah Winter Leadership Training Conference.

  • Kerem, our network of young professionals working year-round in Ramah camp offices or at NRC, for professional development, Jewish learning and leadership training

  • Leadership conferences bringing together various cohorts of Ramah staff for leadership training and Jewish learning and engagement

NRC, together with all the Ramah camp and Israel programs, looks forward to another wonderful year of leadership development, professional training, and Jewish inspirational experiences for hundreds of our current and future staff members, many of whom will no doubt become the next leaders of our Jewish communities.
