Ramah's Israel Story: Commitment, Love, & Devotion
To our beloved Ramah community,
As we have transitioned from the somber day of Yom Hazikaron into a uniquely complicated Yom Ha'atzmaut, we share this Ramah story of commitment, love, and devotion.
In this time of darkness, you, our Ramah mishpacha, have been a beacon of light, and we have never felt so proud of your leadership. You have joined us on 20 volunteer missions, marched with us in Washington, participated in virtual Israel solidarity gatherings and learning programs, supported desperately needed college programs, shipped over 800 duffels of vital supplies to Israel, written thousands of emails to our shlichim and lone soldiers, mourned with our bereaved families, and prayed for the release of all of the chatufim.
Our mishpacha has been present.
We are incredibly proud that over the next two weeks, more than 200 North American Ramah staff members will be in Israel on a fully funded Ramah mission. Our staff will be volunteering, studying, and meeting with 200 of our shlichim in preparation for the summer. They will be introduced to the brand new Israel curriculum we have written for the coming summer. We are grateful to our Birthright Israel Onward partners and key foundations and philanthropists who are supporting this extraordinary initiative.
The young leadership development programs of Ramah Israel deserve special mention as well. We extend a huge kol ha’avod to the TRY high school students who will shortly finish their semester in Israel, and look forward to welcoming the almost 200 Ramahniks who will be attending Ramah Israel Seminar this summer.
Our young adults and teens are present.
This summer, we will welcome over 1,000 new Israeli Ramahniks to our mishpacha. This includes 350 shlichim, 250 Israeli campers who will be joining us in North America, and over 500 campers who will be attending our new Ramah Israel overnight camp and our Jerusalem day camp.
We will be present for them.
Thank you, Ramah family.
If you have not yet been to Israel this year, please consider joining us on one of our upcoming solidarity missions.
Join us, and be present.
Shalom,
Amy Skopp Cooper, Director, National Ramah Commission
Meir Hoyzman, Executive Director, Ramah Israel
