| Temple Emunah Honors
Congregants at Awards Night At
the June 18 Temple Emunah annual awards and installation dinner in Lexington, honors were
given to outstanding individuals who have made significant contributions to Temple Emunah
and to the community at large.
The Russman-Halperin family, Lexington, was
honored with the Emet V'Emunah, Family of the Year Award. This award is given
annually to a family selected by the membership that embodies the Temple Emunah spirit,
setting an example for others by giving time and resources, performing good deeds and
adding to the richness of religious life at the temple.
Residents of Lexington for 16 years, the
Russman-Halperins are an integral part of several key activities at Temple Emunah. In
addition to demanding careers at Babson College and Middlesex Community College, Bob and
Wendy Russman-Halperin, along with their children Liora and Aviva, are active members of
the Minyan Katan services and help organize Shabbat and high holidays, read Torah
and lead discussions for the Minyan Katan experience. They also actively
participate in social action committee projects and Habitat for Humanity.
Sylvia Schatz and Gloria Greenfield, also
of Lexington, were honored for their exceptional work in creating the renowned adult
education program at the synangogue.
Mort and Marcia Camac of Lexington were
honored for founding the 55+ Club, a group whose activities have touched the lives of
hundreds of people.
