The Jewish Theological Seminary
The combination of the JTS faculty of world-class scholars, professional paid internships and mentoring programs, library and beit midrash make The Jewish Theological Seminary the most comprehensive center for Jewish studies in North America.
The Graduate School at JTS offers 15 areas of study with over 50 full time faculty members in Jewish Studies for its MA in Jewish Studies. JTS offers part-time and full-time MA and EdD degrees at the The William Davidson Graduate School of Jewish Education, America's largest pluralistic school of Jewish education. For more information, please contact Abby Eisenberg, Director of Graduate Admissions, at (212) 678-8022.
Although the deadline for fall 2009 applications has passed, The Rabbinical School often grants generous extensions to promising candidates. Every prospective student must have a preliminary discussion with Director of Admissions Rabbi Mordecai Schwartz. We can also arrange campus visits, which include classes, daily minyan, and personal meetings with students and faculty. After visiting the school, a candidate may be encouraged to submit an application. For more information about The Rabbinical School, contact Rabbi Mordecai Schwartz at (212) 678-8817.
Ziegler School of Rabbinic Studies and American Jewish University
The Ziegler School of Rabbinic Studies values rigorous scholarship, embraces the splendors of spirituality, and provides students with vast opportunities to grow intellectually and spiritually. On the idyllic campus of AJU, and in an atmosphere that places great emphasis on personalized teaching, students open their minds and hearts to the texts and traditions of our religion, feel the presence of God in their lives, and assume the ever-expanding roles and responsibilities offered to those entering the Conservative rabbinate of the 21st century.
The American Jewish University also offers programs leading to a Masters in Education (M.A.Ed.) and Nonprofit Management (MBA).
The Conservative Yeshiva offers men and women a serious study opportunity for learning traditional Jewish texts during a year in Israel. The egalitarian, open-minded environment, combined with the wonderful learning and warm religious community at the CY, enables students to experience life in Jerusalem and throughout the country.
The Conservative Yeshiva's educational programs include the one-year program, pre-college program, advanced studies program, summer program, and Nativ Yeshiva Track.
Pardes Institute of Jewish Studies
The Pardes Institute of Jewish Studies in Jerusalem immerses its students in the study of classical Jewish texts. Men and women of diverse backgrounds learn together in a rigorous, challenging and open-minded environment. This learning experience nurtures a deep and personal connection to our Jewish heritage, a love for the Jewish people and Israel, and the knowledge to become leaders in the Jewish community. Founded in 1972, Pardes is an independent institution not affiliated with any religious or political movement.
Pardes Educators Program (PEP) This two-year program combines intensive Beit Midrash study with a Master of Jewish Education (from Hebrew College in Boston) to prepare men and women to be Judaic Studies teachers in North American day schools. Graduates teach throughout North America in a wide variety of community and denominational day schools.
PEP is highly subsidized, including Pardes tuition and a generous living stipend of $1,100 per month. Tuition for the Masters degree at Hebrew College is significantly reduced. PEP students commit to three years of teaching in a day school, following the two years of study in Israel.
For more information, you may contact the Pardes New York office at 212-447-4333.
